FOIA/OMA TRAINING
for government officials in
Kankakee County

PLEASE NOTE: The 12pm-1:30pm session is at capacity and can no longer accept registrations.  You can still register for the 5:15pm-6:45pm session.

Every elected or appointed official at any level of government in Kankakee County is encouraged to attend this training.  The training will run approx. 90 minutes and will highlight the Freedom of Information Act and Open Meetings Act, along with recent updates and binding opinions.  There will be time permitted for questions at the end.  The training is being conducted by Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe and Assistant Attorney General Benjamin Silver, in conjunction with Kankakee County Clerk Dan Hendrickson, to ensure that every agency of local government complies with Illinois’ sunshine laws, and to keep officials from accidentally running afoul of the law.  Feel free to contact Jim via email at jrowe@kankakeecountyil.gov with any questions.
